Well-being Workshops

Group Workshops in School helping children in primary and secondary education

Child in Time workshops offer a holistic approach to well-being for children, parents, and members of staff. Ranging from understanding the fundamentals of emotional regulation, to the importance of self-care, our goal is to educate and inspire through creativity and open discussion. The aim of the workshops are to foster healthy relationships, resilience, and emotional intelligence in a supportive and nurturing environment.

What our schools are saying:
‘Clemmie’s empathetic and nurturing demeanour, supplemented by her wonderful presentation was warmly received by our parents.’ (Assistant Head, Falcon’s School, May 2024)
‘Alexandra was a great facilitator. She was extremely knowledgeable and kept us engaged throughout the session. I learnt a lot of useful information and I am looking forward to Alexandra working with our schools in the future.’ (February 2024)
‘Exactly what we were after and very positive feedback from staff’ (December 2023)

Neurodiversity in the Classroom (KS3): We have a new workshop starting in January 2025. ‘Neurodiversity in the Classroom’ provides emotional and practical strategies to support neurodiverse children at school – including those with ASC and ADHD.
Safe Space (KS3): Through conversation and creative activities, students explore where they feel a sense of belonging and safety. These are contrasted with places and experiences where they feel anxious before focussing on tools to support themselves and others at these times.
Emotional Regulation Workshop (for staff): Physical and emotional strategies that adults can adopt in their day to day lives to help them better manage and deal with stress.
Confident Parenting (for parents): A one hour workshop exploring the neuroscience behind emotional communication, the power of reflection and self-care with new strategies to take home. Can be delivered in person or online.
Co-regulation in school (for staff): This one hour workshop trains staff to use an attachment approach  with children, modelling empathy and self-care as well as demonstrating ways to work with the arts to help express feelings in the classroom.
Beat the stress (for primary school children):  Children explore what stress and anxiety feels to them using the arts before learning about the neuroscience behind these feelings and regulating strategies. They create a ‘catastrophe castle’ together (worst case scenario) and then put the ‘knights’ in place to defend themselves.
Creative Expression and self-regulation (for secondary school students):  Young people use the arts to express their feelings before learning about the nervous system, the mind & body connection, regulating strategies and well-being approaches.

Testimonials

I have really noticed a difference at home, since starting her sessions, she seems
better within herself.

Therapy gave me a space to think about my insecurities, the times when I overthink, and my friendship issues.

Student

She is no longer upset in the mornings or in class. While she’s still not comfortable answering questions in a big group, she participates in lessons and does well. She will occasionally contribute in class and can ask for help when she needs it.

Teacher

It was good to share my feelings with someone whose job is to listen and understand someone’s feelings. It’s a fun place to be creative.

Student

My daughter really enjoys going to see you and looks forward to her weekly sessions. I don’t hear too much about them as I think it is important to her that they are private. She does however, want to recreate the activities at home. I have really appreciated you taking the time to communicate with me and keep me up to date on my daughter’s progress.

Parent

We feel that his attainment and emotional regulation have improved. His Dad spoke very highly of the experience that he had with you and thanked us for the referral to you.

Teacher

My son has settled in very well, has started being more confident and more comfortable speaking up. I believe the sessions with Magda have been an important part of this. I appreciate the termly face-to-face updates that Magda has provided to follow my son’s progress.

Child in Time is a wonderful organisation. Child in Time provide therapists in my current primary school and we have found the experience to be hugely supportive. The way the therapists are able to support pupils, staff and families is invaluable. I would unreservedly recommend Child in Time to anyone.
